JANE COLLINS - CEO & WEDDING ARTISAN
She didn’t set out to be a florist. Jane Collins was really looking for a change after having twins and staying home for a few years. Despite having worked in Marketing and Communications for close to 20 years. Knowing she could do anything, she set out to start a business.
Collins was always creative she decided she wanted to take a floral design class and stumbled upon World renowned floral designer Michael Gaffney who teaches flower design from the ground up. Once she had received her Master in Floral Design Collins said to her family I am opening up a Floral Design company. Taking a leap of faith, Collins opened a local Florist and opened her doors on Easter Day of 2019. With no previous experience in the floral industry, this was an act of audacity and courage, but one typical of a woman willing to take risks and push hard for her dreams.
What makes Collins unique is her out-of-the-box thinking. “I wanted a flower shop that wasn’t a flower shop,” she says quizzically. “I love things that look high end I love high end brands and wanted that same luxury experience and products for my customers.”
“My floral arrangements do not look like the every day arrangements. I love to make non - traditional funeral pieces that people are talking about. I add kale, cabbage, and seed pods to my arrangements. I love textures and unusual combinations. It’s art more than flower arranging,” says Collins.
Channeling her deep love of all things high end, Collins transformed her lovely, small town flower shop into a luxury couture flower brand that is taking her local town and all of SouthCoast by storm. Her newly-created SouthCoast Floral Couture is now the premiere luxury concierge flower service in SouthCoast, bringing masterful designs to homes, business’s, celebrations of life, weddings and many other special occasions.
Now that her Wedding business has doubled in size, Collins has turned her attention to her other passion - contributing to the community, and lifting people up. Collins has been recognized by many for her work and contributions to the community.
The fearless entrepreneur continues to look for unique ways to enhance the value of her service and has joined forces with numerous photographers and Venues in the SouthCoast and surrounding areas. Collins and these innovative photographers have created explosive and dynamic design concepts that her exclusive clientele truly appreciate.
